Beautification of green space at corner of Adelaide and Power St

From "Post your proposal here for the consideration of Councillor Moise"

Go to the project

Proposal to utilize the empty green space at the corner of Adelaide and Power St as bee pollinator patch by planting perennial wild flowers. To carry this proposal to stretch of Power St sidewalk from Adelaide to King St. Cover the City-owned sidewalk with new sod or white gravel to match what local business Reina on King did on their side. This will not only beautify the area but will also help the bee population in the urban environment and bring attention to the local business by creating a safe and beautiful pathway worthy of Instagram photo while passing through this under developed area.

@Maria Santos. I'm with the Corktown Residents & Business Assoc. Inc., and want to confirm that Amy Zubick is correct. The CRBA has, for a few years, been after the city to allow us to improve the Sumach St corridor from King St south bound. Last year, the person leading this initiative ‘signed’ an agreement which allows the CRBA to be responsible for improving this corridor. Maria - I live close to Adelaide and Power and feel the same as you but these types of community initiatives take time and involvement by community members as yourself. Feel free to send an email to president@corktown.ca so we can speak further.

Residents from the Canary District and Corktown are working together to grow a pollinator corridor that stretches from Corktown Common park, connecting us with native plants and pollinator habitat. This garden is in a vital location to expand our ecological and educational impact. Let's grow this movement!

@Amy Zubick thank you for your support. If I can kindly ask you to circulate this proposal to your friends, family and neighbors. We have less than a month to get this on the council's table. Much appreciated.

And today down to 9 votes. I have total of 26 confirmed votes the other day. Is this an apps problem or the City staff is actually doing the vote adjustments? Hmm. Time to investigate.

Went down again. Now 11 votes from 19.

And now down to 12 votes in 10 minutes after the previous comments. What's going on?

I've noticed the votes were being taken out this morning Sept. 23rd. Yesterday we already reached 19 votes. Then this morning, every few hours, votes count changed to 14. Friends who voted said they didn't retracted their votes. Hmm mm.

@Maria Santos Every week we conduct a review and delete all profiles of people who do not live within Toronto Centre. As per our Terms of Use (https://torontocentreprojects.ca/en/pages/terms-and-conditions) all users must be residents of Ward 13 - Toronto Centre.

@Tyler Johnson thank you for your response. However, the Terms of Use specified that "each account must be unique and linked to an individual (myself) who lives within the boundaries of Ward 13". The voters are all linked to me (who is the resident of Ward 13). All profiles the City staff deleted are either my family, friends, colleagues and local business owners. The City guidelines did not say voters/account profile owners needs to be a resident of Ward 13. This platform is putting more red tape and making it harder for a resident to advocate for their own neighborhood.

@Maria Santos That's not how that works. The account itself must be linked to an individual who lives within the boundaries of Toronto Centre as this platform is only for residents of Toronto Centre, not friends and relatives of residents who live within Toronto Centre.
