Dedicated pickleball courts & scheduled times after 5:00 pm on weekdays.
From "Post your proposal here for the consideration of Councillor Moise"
Go to the project
We are aware that The City is looking at viable options for additional pickleballs courts. We need many more courts downtown (north of Queen St, south of Davenport, between Bathurst and River streets) 12 months a year.
Most importantly, we need drop-in and scheduled court times in community centres and dedicated courts after 5:00pm on weekdays for adults 18 to 100 yrs.

Can you add Pickleball on Saturday and Sunday mornings at the John Innes Community Recreation Centre? There are no programs scheduled to take place at that time.

Similar to Aqua-fitness, pickleball drop-in signups should have online "Reserve-A-Spot" capabilities. Arriving 60 minutes before the start time to get on the list is not working.

It is simple. The city needs more dedicated indoor and outdoor pickleball courts. Not gnarly hockey rinks - where we have to bring our own nets. We need proper courts like tennis players have. My guess is that there are way more Pickelball players than tennis players.

There are lots of working-age folks who are excited to play pickleball, and very few places to play after work, almost all the times are for seniors during the day. The few that exist, you have to get there an hour early to line up. Huge demand - not enough facility access.
