Frederick/Front traffic light and other streetscape improvements
From "2023 PB Cluster 5"
Go to the project
The intersection of Front/Frederick is treacherous for cars and sees much jay walking. A traffic light should be installed. At the same time, the narrow sidewalk on the south side of Front between George and Sherborne should be expanded to provide safe pedestrian experience. Finally, some traffic noise calming signeage and enforcement should be introduced. With the traffic backups on Front and the construction related lane closures, there is a barrage of car and truck horns most of the day. So in summary, three items as part of improving out street scape - traffic light, wider sidewalks and traffic calming.

Yes, this (already approved) new traffic light is a great idea - turning from northbound Frederick to westbound Front is virtually impossible. I agree 100% with using this opportunity to improve the pedestrian environment in that area by widening the Front Street sidewalks and all the 'corners'. The sidewalks are already busy, as all the new condos start filling up they will be impossible. Time to 'get on with it'.
