PB2024 - Greener Resurfacing of Nuthatch Ln, Silkweed Lane and Doctor O Ln

This idea proposes to repave Nuthatch Lane, Silkweed Lane and Dr. O Lane with new permeable paving when time for the queued laneway revitalization comes.

Transportation Services estimates that the project will cost $700,000 with materials and labour. Complications may apply.

Original Description:

Greener Resurfacing of Nuthatch Ln, Silkweed Lane and Doctor O Ln

This idea is for a city improvement to resurfacing of this stretch of the ward into the greener and growing foot paths within Cabbagetown. Backed my beautiful old brick structures that were once stables, Coach Houses and handsome small structures. This pocket is a dense treen canopy and needs further beautification as neighbours plant communal gardens and keep it beautiful. We would like this area to be followed by other lane improvements within this pocket which may happen nearby. A greener path with similiar foot bricks to those in nearby Calgie Lane.

It would be a big step for this lane and making it beautiful. The residents who back onto it work hard at keeping it and their streets clean.
Updated Cobblestone alleyways would greatly improve the neighbourhood and alleyways! Let’s make cabbagetown the next distillery district to improve safety, curb appeal, and tourism! Also hoping the entire alleyway to Berkeley street will be included!
This would be significant improvement in safety and usability. We walk that lane daily with our two young children and dod. The laneway is currently an area where there is a lot of drug use and sex occurs, evidenced by the needles and condoms we keep picking up.
        Great idea!
Great idea! Include Woodward Evans Lane too in this proposal.

Backlanes need improvements similar to Drovers, Calgie, and Callaghan lanes. Drainage and better street lights with repaired speed bumps to reduce traffic shortcuts that affect pedestrian safety for Silkweed and Woodward Evans Lanes.

Extend this also to Lane North Dundas West Seaton! (The lane West from Seaton to Oskenonton)…
Please replicate the improvements made to Drovers, Calgie, and Callaghan lanes! This was a massive upgrade that is green to boot! Let's copy it through the neighbourhood. Add Catbird and Woodward Evans Lane too!

I support the idea and will add improvements of the street lights, install security cameras and invite local artists to create graffiti art to prevent any other graffiti in the area
