Heritage Street Banners

The idea proposes for additional heritage street signage to promote the visual identity of heritage and cultural assets of the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood. The banners would be erected on King Street East along the north boundary of the original ten blocks at: 1. South side in front of Royal Bank 2. South side in front of Fido 3. South Side in front of Subway 4. South Side 235 King 5. South Side 197 King 6. South Side 215 King 7. North Side 280 King 8. North Side 270 King 9. North Side 256 King 10. North Side 250 King 11. North Side 204 King 12. North Side 200 King

Transportation Services staff have reviewed this proposal and estimate the 12 banners would cost approximately $5000 including materials and labour.

Goal: To promote the visual identity of heritage and cultural assets of the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood and St. Lawrence HCD  Banners on King Street East along the north boundary of the original ten blocks). This type of banner could last up to 10 years?

Note: This is one idea which can be scoped in a range of cost brackets, with associated investments ranging from large to very significant. It is hoped that there will be ongoing dialogue with the Councillor’s office to qualify and shape this idea further as design and cost input is received from staff experts at the City, and prior to it being submitted for voting.
