Improved Air Quality Construction Zone

From "2023 PB Cluster 5"

Go to the project

Dear Chris

Thank you for allowing me to put forward my suggestions for Zone 5, St. Lawrence SLNA. My concern is for improved air quality control in my neighbourhood. Pemberton Construction 183-175 Front Street E has been in operation since August 18 2018. There is constant air pollution, from concrete dust from concrete, jack hammering, sandblasting of the outer structure walls, morning, noon and night. The impact of this multi-complex causes daily dust to creep into windows, into doors that are opened at the lobby, elevator shafts, so a fine layer of dust is everywhere! This is not a health hazard especially if you are allergic to dust as I am. This causes more impact on upper respiratory concerns, sinus's, dry throat, burning and itchy eyes, coughing!!! Also hidden dust on carpets, even if you vacuum each day! At no point has the City of Toronto thought about the impact on the residents. So let's make some improvements with feasible practical solutions. I consider my building to be a dirty building now, and with natural sunlight also diminished affects ones environment, and plants do not thrive as they use too. Beside look at the aesthetic view I have lost as a result. V. Rottner
