Wellesley Station Mural Project

From "2023 PB Cluster 1"

Go to the project

This idea proposes to decorate the current brown facade directly above the structure of Wellesley Station with a colourful mural. Art pieces must go through holistic community consultation upon approval.

Street Art TO estimated that the project would cost $80,000 with materials and labour. Complications may apply.

Original Description:

Hi - Directly above the main entrance to Wellesley Station (on the north side of Wellesley, directly across from the Green P), there is a large patch of brown aluminum siding. I believe it is the south wall of a parking garage for a rental building on Dundonald (picture attached). I've always thought a bright mural on this space would really improve the neighborhood. As it is, the intersection is kind of run-down and anything with more color would be an improvement. Thanks

Note: This is one idea which can be scoped in a range of cost brackets, with associated investments ranging from large to very significant. It is hoped that there will be ongoing dialogue with the Councillor’s office to qualify and shape this idea further as design and cost input is received from staff experts at the City, and prior to it being submitted for voting.

@Connie Langille Enough with the Rainbows already. Most people recognize the area and it's meaning to it's inhabitants. There is a community in Toronto that is not of the same persuasion so something other than a Rainbow is more suitable.
