Nighthawk Lane Revitalization
From "Reclaiming Un-used Laneways into Artways"
Go to the project

Nighthawk Lane is an overlooked laneway in the Moss Park area that currently lacks lighting, maintenance, and safe walkability. Due to its secluded nature and proximity to the Toronto East Drop-In Centre, it has become a gathering spot at night, which can feel unsafe for nearby residents—particularly those in adjacent low-income housing who rely on the lane as a direct route to the Dundas streetcar. Revitalizing this space through public art, lighting, and community design would promote safety, support inclusive use, and create a more welcoming environment for all. This project has the potential to transform Nighthawk Lane into a vibrant, accessible connector that reflects the strength and resilience of the surrounding community.
