Protect Bike Lanes on Gerrard Overpass
From "Traffic Regulation Review - Fall 2023"
Go to the project

The bike lanes on Gerrard Street are a fantastic way to get from one side of the Don Valley to the other when not driving. Due to the width of the bridge and the lack of objects near the road, the perception of speed for drivers is greatly reduced, making them drive faster than they would otherwise. Concrete barriers should be installed to separate the bike lane from the driving lanes to protect cyclists, pedestrians, and vehicles. In addition, having local artists paint the barriers similar to the richmond/adelaide barriers would add some art/colour to the bridge.
