Dogs get bored with toys, and many have a stash of gently used ones at home. Why not share the love? The Dog Box is a simple, community-led toy exchange placed in local parks where dog owners can give a gently used toy or take one for their pup to enjoy. This request can be completed outside of the Participatory Budgeting Process with approval from Parks and Recreation for pilot. Since this request is not a standardized item with guidelines already existing in Parks and Recreation, the requirement with this project is that a Business Improvement Area or registered Resident Association of the area must sign on as the caretaker and take ownership of the dog box to ensure safety of dogs and proper use.
Theoretically, a resident association can put together a dog box immediately to be placed at the park without authorization.
