James Wilkinson2 years ago Reopening this, as since closure 2 more people have been hit by cars at Jarvis and Sirman Lane, there are drive ways on both sides to facilitate a 4 way traffic stop, or in the middle of the ballet school a single in lane stop light triggered by button timer should be installed.People cross here daily, the study that was done was not good enough to look at pedestrian traffic across the street.Kids cross to go to school on church st. teenagers and parents cross to go to ballet recitals. Adults cross to get to the south end of the village and loblaws.

James Wilkinson2 years ago The PXO just south of the freshco is dangerous, numerous people stop on sherbourne then the people on isabella think they can make a turn because traffic stopped and speed around the corner into the PXOThe TTC accelerates very quickly from Wellesley and has to slam on the breaks to stop for the PXO if it was a light they would be able to see and drive appropirately.Then there are the numerous cars that simply don't stop for a PXO

James Wilkinson1 year ago There are constant security issues in the jarvis, homewood, maitland, carlton blockWe must encourage the neighborhood community officer program to run in the evening and late night hours there is a constant lack of foot patrols in our neighbourhood that other rich neighbourhoods in the city have constant patrols and less public drug use and public drunkenness.Something must be done about our safety, we have 5 schools in the square block.

James Wilkinson1 year ago PB2025 - Revitalize Wellesley-Magill Park (Possibly an Irrigated DOLA)This idea proposes to revitalize Wellesley-Magill Park, dependent on the resident visioning and idea collection process of how the park should be utilized by residents. Work such as Irrigation, Fencing, and artificial turf is currently being considered. If supported, this idea would undergo Parks & Recreation Capital evaluation and a community consultation process. Parks and Recreation staff estimates this project can cost up to $1,000,000. Our allocation of $250,000 can help alleviate material or labour costs and kickstart the process. Additional funding can be allocated at a later date. Complications may apply. James Wilkinson1 year ago Montague Parkette is a private park leased from the city by 140 Carlton however they do the most minimal maintenance possible. would like to see the city invest in this park it got a lot of use during the encampments of Allan gardens and is now over do for a revamp. including levelling and making the park accessible, winter maintenance , and a gate and official dola designation would be great. at the very least the city to out pressure on 140 carlton to do better with the space.

James Wilkinson1 year ago PB2025 - Beautifying Utility and Control Boxes around the Maitland and Jarvis Intersection This idea proposes to decorate the current traffic control and utility boxes at the intersection of Maitland Street and Jarvis Street with a colourful mural. StreetArtTO staff reviewed this project and estimated that each utility box unit would cost $4000 through the ‘Outside the Box’ program. A combination of 3 Utility boxes nearby would bring the total materials and labour to $12,000. Complications may apply. There is one with a cable constantly hanging out of it and wired up through the tree, and down Jarvis, across the street, is a large green box, with graffiti on it written in literal fecal matter. Bell needs to be required to keep these boxes properly maintained and free from graffiti.

James Wilkinson1 year ago This has been brought up and ignored numerous times. The ballet school has recitals every sunday that bring families dangerously crossing the road. The ballet school runs daily having students dangerously crossing the road, and the Church st Public school also has numerous families crossing the street here to get to school. A light must be installed, regardless of "traffic study" findings, because this isn't about Cars, stop thinking so much about cars, and care more about the safety of our neighbourhood.Recently the city installed a speed camera, instead of solving the speeding problem with a light at the location of the installation to force traffic to slow down, and allow us to safely cross the street.A pedestrian has been struck here, and a cyclist has died here, that should be more than enough to get this project greenlight.
