BudgetTO 2025

The City’s budget is about working together to build a safe, caring and affordable city where everyone belongs. Your feedback is an important part of the process.

From November 1 to 30, you are invited to share your ideas about the City’s 2025 Budget and Toronto’s Future at virtual and in-person consultations.

This year, there are four phases to the budget process, including:

  1. Pre-Budget Consultations (November 2024)
  2. Budget Launch (January 2025)
  3. Committee Review & Public Deputations (January 2025)
  4. Approval Phase (February 2025)

The timelines of each phase can be found below.

Residents are encouraged to sign up for public deputations on January 21, 2024, and January 22, 2025, to speak to the Budget Committee. However, we recognize this is not always accessible or plausible for residents, so we have included a space for comments on our platform. You can leave your comments below.

Committee Review

January 15, 2025 - January 18, 2025

On January 15th, 16th, and 17th, all City Councillors have an opportunity to attend the Budget Committee Meetings and ask questions of City Staff, Agencies, and Corporations about their proposed budgets. Members of the Budget Committee can move motions requesting City Staff prepare budget briefing notes to gather more details on specific items contained within the budget.
