BudgetTO 2026

The City of Toronto is holding consultations to inform its 2026 Budget.

Share your ideas between October 1 and October 31 by completing a short online survey (available in 12 languages) and attending one of six in-person or virtual consultation meetings.

This year, there are four phases to the budget process, including:

  1. Pre-Budget Consultations (November 2025)
  2. Budget Launch (January 2026)
  3. Committee Review & Public Deputations (January 2026)
  4. Approval Phase (February 2026)

Committee Review

On January 14th, 15th, and 16th, all City Councillors have an opportunity to attend the Budget Committee Meetings and ask questions of City Staff, Agencies, and Corporations about their proposed budgets. Members of the Budget Committee can move motions requesting City Staff prepare budget briefing notes to gather more details on specific items contained within the budget.
