BudgetTO 2026

The City of Toronto is holding consultations to inform its 2026 Budget.

Share your ideas between October 1 and October 31 by completing a short online survey (available in 12 languages) and attending one of six in-person or virtual consultation meetings.

This year, there are four phases to the budget process, including:

  1. Pre-Budget Consultations (November 2025)
  2. Budget Launch (January 2026)
  3. Committee Review & Public Deputations (January 2026)
  4. Approval Phase (February 2026)

City Council Review

On Tuesday, February 10th, there will be a Special City Council meeting where the Mayor will present their budget and all City Councillors have an opportunity to ask questions of staff and move amendments. Council can amend the Mayor's budget but does not vote to approve the budget. The Mayor will have the ability to veto any amendments passed by City Council.
