About the project

I am excited to announce the Centre of Excellence a freshly renovated community space at the Regent Park Community Centre.

Previously home to the Toronto Employment and Social Services (TESS)

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many organizations occupying the TESS office spaces at the Regent Park Community Centre transitioned to a work-from-home format, leaving the space vacant. In response to high demand from the Regent Park community for more accessible workspaces, my office conducted an audit and found this area under-utilized. Consequently, it was decided to transfer the space from TESS to the Parks and Recreation division of the city for public use and community programming.

Over the past two years, my office has been working with Parks and Recreation to transform the space into a new community hub, providing space for community members and organizations. Services offered will include mental health support, career/employment development, art studio space, music studio space, photography hubs, and therapy rooms.
