Laneway Naming: North Star Way

An application was submitted earlier in 2023 by a resident to name the street parallel south from Queen Street between St. Paul Street and Bright Street North Star Way.

The street lies adjacent to the Bright Street Parkette to the south and is currently not named.

The North Star was a guide in the sky that historically showed people who were seeking freedom the "way" to Canada and to freedom.

Technical and ECS Review

Engineering and Construction Services (ECS) reviews the documentation and confirms that there are no technical issues with the application in terms of completion; duplicate names; similar sounding alternate names and etc.

Once confirmed, the application is circulated to Toronto First Responders and Councillors office for a 30 day review for confirmation and review.
