Ontario Street and Aberdeen Avenue Survey
Phases
Survey Results
In December 2024, a resident submitted a proposal to modify the Ontario Street Bicycle Lane. In response my office canvassed residents and conducted an online survey between June 2 and June 20th. A total of 41 surveys were collected and submitted from participating residents across 77 homes on both Aberdeen Avenue and Ontario Street from Winchester Street on the north side to Carlton Street on the south side.
This thorough consultation process was initiated to find out what option had the most support from residents directly impacted out of the feasible options provided by Transportation Services staff for the modification of bike lanes on Ontario Street and parking options on Aberdeen Avenue.
As a result, Option C: to move parking to the east curb of Ontario Street while having the bike lane situated on the west side of the parked cars and keeping the parking on Aberdeen Avenue as is both received the most votes.
Next Steps:
We will inform staff of the outcome of the consultation and ask them to proceed with the changes as part of the Ontario Street Reconstruction and Watermain project.
