PollinateTO and Grant Program
Toronto is home to diverse pollinator communities that contribute to ecosystem resiliency and enhances urban biodiversity.
Through PollinateTO funding, recipient groups create pollinator habitats in their communities to increase local pollinator population health and engage and educate Toronto residents about pollinator stewardship.
PollinateTO was approved by council in 2018 as part of the Pollinator Protection Strategy, which launched the Toronto Biodiversity Strategy in 2019. Every year, 30 to 45 groups are approved for funding and receive up to $5000 per project.
PollinateTO Impact in Toronto Centre
Priority will be given to gardens located in Toronto’s Neighbourhood Improvement Areas (NIAs).

Phases
Applicant Ideation and Neighbourhood Analysis
In this stage, we want to encourage all Ward 13 members who are interested in applying for the grant to create a PollinationTO project to do all necessary research of the neighborhood gardens and determine whether ideas are feasible, and to build your pollination team prior to September.
Each applicant should assess space, future greeneries and flowers. The budget should not exceed $5000, and a grant execution plan aimed at completion must be planned in this stage.
