Renaming of 'Eastern Avenue' South Diversion

The Eastern Avenue Diversion is getting a new name - Old Foundry Road! This exciting project came to life thanks to a dedicated constituent who put forward a proposal on Toronto Centre Projects. With over 60 votes from local community members, it's clear that this change is much needed.

One of the key reasons for the proposal was the confusion caused by having a street named Eastern Ave right off Eastern Ave itself. Imagine the perplexity of giving directions in such a scenario! By renaming it to Old Foundry Road, we not only eliminate this confusion but also pay tribute to the heritage of the Dominion Wheel and Foundries Company building in the area.

The renaming is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. It's a step towards enhancing the local community's navigation and preserving the historical significance of the area.
