Upper Jarvis Neighbourhoods Study

The City of Toronto has recently received a number of development applications for tall buildings in the Upper Jarvis Area. In response to these applications, On April 21 2022, City Council directed planning staff to conduct a Study of the Upper Jarvis Area with the goal of creating a Planning Framework to help evaluate current and future development proposals in the area.

The Planning Framework will outline a vision for the area, identify street and area character, identify opportunities for public spaces, and outline general built form objectives that staff and the development community can use to help evaluate and guide future growth. The Study Area is generally located south of Bloor Street, west of Sherbourne Street, north of Wellesley Street, and east of Church Street (see Study Area Boundary Map Below).

The colours on the map indicate land use categories in the City of Toronto Official Plan. Yellow corresponds to Neighbourhoods, orange corresponds to Apartment Neighbourhoods, and red corresponds to Mixed Use Areas.
