Wellesley Station Mural Project
About the Project
We're celebrating our 2SLGBTQ+ communities and bringing vibrancy to Wellesley TTC Station this summer.
In 2023, the community voted to provide $80,000 in s37 community benefits to create a mural at Wellesley TTC Station.
Currently in the contract tendering phase with STEPS Public Art, the installation of the art installation is set to commence in May of 2025 and be completed by June 2025, bringing a burst of creativity and colour to the area. This project has been classified as an Empower project according to the International Association of Public Participation's Public Participation Spectrum. This classification highlights the project's commitment to involving the public in decision-making processes, ensuring that the community's voice is heard and valued.
The "New Art Above Wellesley Station at Church-Wellesley Village" project is a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives and the transformative impact of public art. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project that celebrates the unique spirit of the Church-Wellesley Neighbourhood.
